Baby Play Mat

I was supposed to go to Sydney on Sunday to meet up with some people I went to school with. I haven't seen them for 40 years so I was pretty excited and nervous. It was to be at the Opera House Concourse and believe it or not I have never been to the Opera House so I was keen to go.
Anyway, we didn't get to go as the Harbour Bridge was closed for the last two weekends for resurfacing work causing a nightmare to get to Sydney so hubby said forget it.
Hopefully the opportunity will come up again.
The positive side of this is I was able to get a play mat quilted. It was quilted with an all over stipple and stitched around the embroideries.

The colour didn't come out true in these photos
It is a bit washed out.
This back was a bright gold colour.

Progress on Tara's Quilt

The quilt is now pieced and waiting for some borders. I love it! I am sure she will too.

Christmas Swap

I joined in an online swap at Christmas time. I had to send my swap to Maria in Spain so it had to be in the mail in September. I thought it was fun! This is what I sent her. I hope she liked it.
I sent her an angel a Christmas decoration, a Christmas fat quarter and a chocolate bar.
The Angel is made from a pattern by Whiskers and Wings and the Christmas decoration was made from Wildcraft's Farm Christmas Notes pattern.

My swap was sent from Mhairi. I love it. Aren't the Santa's too cute!!!

Braided Quilt

One of these braided quilts was quilted with an all over stipple pattern and the other one was quilted with an all over floral pattern

New Look

My blog has had a make over by my niece Rachel and her very clever daughter Chloe (Rachel is very clever too!). I love what they have done to it. Thanks heaps xxxxx
My sister Leanne thought my blog needed some quilt blocks added to the background. She created the blocks and added them too my site. They look great! I am so lucky to have such a clever family. I watched her do it and still have no idea what she did. Well, maybe a little bit.......

Tara's Quilt

The 64 blocks are now made and I am starting to join them all together. I have decided to do a different layout to the quilt I made Lee and Shelley. The great thing about log cabin blocks is that you can obtain lots of different looks with the same block.

Happy New Year

I am having a break from long arm quilting this week so I can start a quilt for my daughter Tara.
This is the creative mess in my sewing room.

I wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2012.

Merry Christmas

It was time for me to get out my christmas quilt. My daughter loves to wrap herself in this quilt every christmas.

This is my daughter Tara with the quilt surrounded by christmas presents!
