These are the lovely fabrics I bought when I went to Japan. I have to decide what I am going to make with them.

Quilt Patterns in Japan
These are patterns I found where we are staying at Takayama.
One was taken in the lift and the hall carpet and another one is from a large mat in the main lounge.
It seems inspiration for quilts can be found everywhere.

Japan Holiday
I am in Japan on holidays with my sister Leanne who is a Japanese language teacher. We are wearing ourselves out sightseeing.
I couldn't believe it when we found an actual patchwork shop today. This is Leanne's sixth visit to Japan and she has never seen one before.
The photo with the Cherry Blossoms over the Canal with a swan gracefully moving along was a beautiful sight.
The other photo is of me learning to use chopsticks.

Charity Quilt
This quilt was made by my friend Maxine to be used in a fundraising night for a boy who needs some assistance. I was happy to quilt it for her. The pictures show the front and the back. It was quilted in an Edge to Edge floral.
Celebration Bunting Quilt
I have finished the quilting on this one over the weekend. The pictures show the front and back. I am delighted with it. I admit though, I don't enjoy the cutting out and piecing side of patchwork. The pattern is Celebration Bunting Quilt by Melly & Me.The fabric is Where The Wind Blows also by Melly and Me. It would have to be my favorite fabric.

Boxing Day 2012
On Boxing Day my husband and I went on a bus and boat trip
to Sydney Harbour for the start of the annual Sydney to Hobart
Yacht Race.
The boat above is Wild Oats who won the race.
This is the Wangi Queen Showboat which was a local ferry for
many years on our Lake. It was sold and moved to Sydney not
long before Christmas. We were delighted to see it go past.
